The Colour May Change, But Quality Never Does – NAS Omega 3,6 & 9 Oil

Recently, some customers have noticed a slight change in the colour of our Omega 3,6 & 9 Oil. We want to reassure you: the formulation has not changed - it’s the same carefully crafted blend of essential fatty acids that support your pets’ health and vitality. 

Nearly 20 Years of Growing Together 

As NAS celebrates almost 20 years of helping pets thrive, we’ve been fortunate to grow year after year - a reflection of how much pet parents trust our products. With this growth comes increased demand for our Omega 3,6 & 9 Oil. To keep this popular product available, we’ve needed to source the same flaxseed species from additional trusted suppliers. Because each supplier may use slightly different processing methods, you may notice a lighter-coloured oil in some bottles. 

Why the Colour Looks Different  

The slight variation in colour is purely cosmetic and does not affect the quality or nutritional profile of the oil. Even though the oil may appear lighter or more translucent: 

• Same essential fatty acids: Independent laboratory testing confirms that the omega-3, omega-6, and omega-9 profile remains virtually identical.
• Processing and pigment differences: Different suppliers may filter the oil more finely or remove more of the natural plant pigments, which can result in a lighter appearance. These cosmetic differences do not impact the nutritional value.
• Natural crop variation: Just like fruit and vegetables, flaxseed crops naturally vary slightly from season to season, including the depth of colour.

In short: the colour may have changed, but the nutritional quality hasn’t. What matters most is that your pet’s essential fatty acids are verified through lab testing, not colour. Your pet is still getting the same trusted support for skin, coat, and everyday wellness.

Alongside this, we’ve introduced our new green twist-top bottles - not related to the colour change, but part of our ongoing commitment to quality. These bottles:
