definition:
A functional motility illness of the small and large intestines, in the absence of true structural damage to the intestines. Also known as IBD Irritable Bowel Disease.
At times this disease if left untreated can progress to Ulcerative Colitis. If this too is left untreated it can be a precursor to colon cancer. -
etiology:
IBS consists of various degrees of constipation, diarrhea and abdominal pain, usually presenting as a reaction to stress and diet in a susceptible patient. -
